Tokayev instructs to toughen penalties for officials who hinder business development
President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed to toughen the punishment for officials who hinder the development of business during the enlarged meeting of the Government of Kazakhstan, Kazpravda.kz reports.
"You know my principled position – it is necessary to support domestic business in every possible way. And those who prevent its development by unreasonable checks, extortions, raids should be punished strictly," Tokayev said.
According to the President, it is time to toughen the responsibility for the actions of government officials aimed at the deterioration of doing business in Kazakhstan.
"The legislation should provide for strict measures, including criminal prosecution. Officials who hinder business development should be sent to prison. I instruct the government to amend the legislation," the President said.
